Are your kids obsessed with the craze for slime at the moment? There are loads of recipes available on Pinterest, but some of them contain some pretty iffy ingredients. I can’t take the risk with Small, as she likes to put non-edible things in her mouth. Won’t touch a banana, but will happily eat sand!… So, I wanted to find a slime recipe that could be edible if needs be – not that I really want her to start tucking in! So, after a bit of hunting on the interwebs, I came across an edible chocolate slime recipe, which I have adapted slightly.

Edible Chocolate Slime Recipe
You will need:
- Cornflour
- Cocoa powder
- Coconut milk
Method:
- Mix a cup of cornflour with two tablespoons of cocoa powder in a bowl
- Warm some coconut milk in the microwave or in a pan – you won’t need lots and it must be quite warm but not boiling
- Mix the coconut milk into the dry ingredients slowly, a bit at a time and stirring well
- Once the mixture begins to come together, stop mixing and test the stickiness. If it’s still too sticky, add a little more cornflour. If it’s too dry you can add a drop more milk.
The slime should be soft and fairly runny when picked up with fingers, but a little more solid when on a surface.
It’s totally safe to eat, so don’t worry if your little one does fancy a taste!
And, it’s as simple as that! A safe (and maybe even a bit yummy!) edible chocolate slime recipe that takes minutes to prepare but provides plenty of fun!
What is my child learning from slime?!
P.S., Told you she’d try it!
